Together we lead a way for a better future
Overview lebanon programme
DCI has been operating in Lebanon since February 2015. Lebanon programme focuses on the protection of children from violence, abuse and exploitation targeting refugee children, working children and Lebanese children affected by violence and abuse.
The Development Programme aims at building the capacities of local authorities on international conventions and advocating with civil society organizations to improve the protection measures of working children and children victims of violence. DCI works through a community-based approach to build the resilience of vulnerable groups in outreach and center-based activities, by providing psychosocial support through creative skills trainings like yoga and dance, awareness classes and recreational activities for children and their parents. In order to empower them to overcome challenges and mitigate the effects of trauma, the feelings of powerlessness, resentment, fear, and uncertainty amongst children and young people.
In addition, DCI is currently planning a new project aims at dissipating tensions and reducing conflicts among Lebanese and refugee children in schools. The project is currently being designed and planned in consultation and coordination with Parents &Teachers Association (PTA) and the national scouts.
